So, with the launch of the new website, my brief is to ‘Do a Blog’. Never having done one before, you’ll have to bear with me for a little while. We’re really excited about the website finally going ‘live’. I, for one, have been wanting to send the link to all those lovely people who’ve donated recently or nominated The PPR Foundation as their preferred charity, but I’ve had to be sooooooooo patient. Well, finally, here it is and I hope you’ll find it as addictive as I do once you’ve logged on.
Besides the website launch, Team PPR has been very busy in the last couple of weeks – and that’s without us doing any major fundraising this month. We’re all now the proud owners of a CIEH Food Safety Certificate. We were able to do the CIEH course at Dr Barnardo’s Kitchen in Harrogate and amazingly, although we were a rowdy set of pupils, our teacher seems to have managed to teach us something! So you can now be assured that if we sell you our home-baked produce, it’ll have been prepared in the best possible way.
Then we had a fantastic day and evening at the Party in the Park with Russell Watson (our patron) in mid-September. We were lucky enough to go to the VIP party after the event where we met those gorgeous Escala girls, who’d put on a brilliant performance earlier in the evening; and sopranos, Margaret Keys and Rebecca Newman – all of whom were keen to support The PPR Foundation. We had an ulterior motive in attending the concert – which we can hopefully reveal in a few months time.
The new office is nearly ready and there’s a real buzz amongst us all at present, with new fund raising ideas just spilling out all over the place. So, roll on October!
